I’m a coffee addict, foodie, beauty enthusiast, and vegetarian newbie. My favorite things include: singing loudly in the car, dancing in my kitchen, trying out new recipes, and spending time with my family and friends.
Born and raised in the mitten state, I now call Central New Jersey home. I graduated in 2009 from Western Michigan University in communications. Lucky for me, corporate jobs were scarce and I stumbled upon a receptionist job for Douglas J. Aveda Institute and quickly fell in love with the hustle and bustle of the salon world. In 2012, I decided to get my cosmetology license. With a taste for the business aspect of the salon industry, I accepted a position as a manager opening a trendy and up and coming salon in my hometown.
As life goes, once we get too comfortable it tends to throw us some curveballs just to make sure we’re awake. My husband Anton and I relocated to the Great Philadelphia area just days after we said “I do” so he could begin his family practice residency.
Starting out in a new state away from family and friends is not easy but it gives you the opportunity to reinvent yourself and try new things that might not have been presented to you otherwise. I’m a firm believer that change happens when you’re uncomfortable. I found myself utilizing my PR skills and working in corporate event planning and getting the opportunity to travel for the next 2 years.
Then in November, 2017, Anton and I welcomed our baby girl Vera into our lives. Since then, I’ve been a stay-at-home momma to one sweet and sassy little lady!
Make killer healthy meals with zero food in your fridge, work that dry-shampoo style and still look fierce, #momlife, wellness (we’re talking good for the body as well as our soul. Think: tacos & margaritas), fashion outside of sweatpants, and how to keep a home looking fresh when you live in a zoo (Joanna, why do you have to make it look so easy?!)
Don’t fret friends. You can do all the things if you just add coffee.
